Comcast’s Veteran Initiatives Featured in “Search and Employ” Magazine
By Katerina Athanasiou
Comcast’s commitment to veterans is highlighted in the March/April edition of Search & Employ, a magazine dedicated to helping service members transition from the military.
“Veterans fit well within the ranks of our company because of our shared values of leadership, service, teamwork, and ethics,” writes Will Bass, a veteran and Comcast’s Executive Director of Talent Acquisition.
Through online and in-person career fairs, veteran-focused career sites, and local community events, Comcast is making every effort to recruit vets. Furthermore, Comcast and NBCUniversal aim to support and retain veterans through internal support networks. Additionally, Comcast holds the jobs of active reservists or identifies positions of equivalent status to ensure the best and seamless transitions into the company.
Overall, Comcast and NBCUniversal continue to surpass their initial goal of hiring 1,000 veterans by 2015, having hired 2,000 veterans already.
